Donation Dog Wash Fund Raiser For Kilo

On Sunday February 22nd of 2009 we held a donation only self wash fund raiser for Kilo who was the victim of a hit and run on February 14th. There are no adequate words to express our appreciation for the warmth and outpouring of good wishes, donations, and empathy that have been flowing from the incredible Spokane area animal lover's community whose remarkable response to Kilo's story has resulted in his rapid recovery and happy, albeit clumsy, adjustment to his 3-legged doggie lifestyle. Your combined generosity resulted in a huge success! To date nearly $1300 has been raised on Kilo's behalf, over half of his News 4 for taking the time to come out and help us spread the word about Kilo's situation and our efforts to help.
We are grateful for your caring hearts and donations to benefit Kilo's recovery. Without your help, Kilo's story would have had a very different ending.

Santa Claus came to visit The Yuppy Puppy for two weekends this winter, where he graciously sat for photo sessions. Proceeds from this event went to the Spokane Humane Society. We were able to raise over $500 to help our local animals in need. A big thank you to all who participated; Humane Society volunteers, Santa, Carla Haley of Critter Prints Photography, and all the beautiful puppies. Without you this wouldn't have been possible.
Stay tuned for dates of Santa pictures of 2009.

Sherman was the winner of the 2008 Doggie Halloween Costume Contest, with his tank costume. For winning he received a basket of goodies including a variety of treats, a portable water/food bowl, a doggie water bottle, a dog tote, and a $20 gift certificate to the store.
Larry the bulldog was the runner up in his frog prince costume.
The event included treats for dogs and owners alike. All who attended had a good time and chuckle at the funny costumes that each owner forced their dog(s) into. In the end we had 25 dogs dressed up for the occasion.
